Gillian Anderson is an American actress best known for her role as FBI agent Dana Scully on the sci-fi television series "The X-Files." She also played Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier on the psychological thriller series "Hannibal."
In "Hannibal," Anderson's character, Dr. Du Maurier, is a psychotherapist who becomes entangled in the twisted and dangerous world of the show's titular serial killer, Hannibal Lecter. Du Maurier is a close confidante and former colleague of Lecter, but as she becomes more aware of his sinister nature, she begins to fear for her life.
